Attorneys from both sides will discuss formal evidence and file potential motions with the judge. At today's hearing, Judge Alice Hill will oversee the proceedings.
Linaras, 24, is charged with killing her newborn on May 1, 2006. The body was discovered by a resident searching for recyclables in a trash bin the next day near Linaras' home in the Polynesian Mobile Home Park in Newhall.
Linaras and her boyfriend, Jose de la Cruz Depaz, were arrested on May 16, 2006, after a neighbor tipped off investigators.
Charges against de la Cruz Depaz were dropped in early
2007.
If convicted, Linaras would face 25 years to life in prison. She is in custody without bail.
