Liberals gone wild

It could be the basis for a new reality show: “Liberals Gone Wild”; maybe “Lefties Unleashed.”

Right here, on the pages of this very newspaper, on July 14, Jonathan Kraut’s column “Ancient Wars” extolled the reasoned discourse of liberals in political discussions, saying among other things: “Republican rhetoric is thematic with personal attacks and praises ... rarely is such language heard from Democrats.”

And yet the very next day, on July 15, his fellow lefty Gary Horton’s column “It’s not about Sarah Palin” ran a long rant denigrating and insulting every single person who supports Sarah Palin, including such lines as, “Like Sarah, this 70 percent maybe blundered through school — or not — and can’t seem to hold down a job for long without something coming up.”

This is hilarious. These guys on the left can’t even keep their stories straight for a single day.

Actually, Horton’s column is more in line with reality and Kraut’s a simple exercise in wishful thinking.

Here are some of the other golden oldies from liberalism’s Hall of Shame:

“Bush lied, people died” (liberal chant); “Henry Hyde should be stoned to death” (Alec Baldwin); “Someone should go into the White House and shoot (Bush) with a .44 Magnum” (Baldwin again); “I hope (Clarence Thomas’) wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease” (Julianne Malveaux); “Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors in midnight raids, children could not be taught about evolution” (Ted Kennedy); “Tea baggers” (liberal news hacks’ idea of a “clever” way to label Tea Party attendees); “Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot” (Al Franken).

I could go on like this all day. Liberals absolutely revel in using personal and ad homonym attacks against their opponents. That’s their standard MO. They can’t win in the political arena on the basis of ideas, so they couch everything in the context of the personal attack and slur ... all the time.

Then, just as in Kraut’s ridiculous column, they turn around and falsely accuse the other guy of doing what they just did. And now we see the absolute proof of that, right here in the pages of The Signal.

I will grant liberals one thing: absolutely incredible chutzpah.
