All Corked Up, Santa Clarita's premier wine merchant and storage facility, will hold its 2009 International Wine Festival at College of the Canyons on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons' new K-12 Arts Education Outreach program.

Knowledgeable vintners hailing from California to Australia will be on hand to discuss the finer points of the business and will present some of their finest wines for sampling.

Among the vineyards to represented at the Wine Festival are Silver Oak, Cakebread, Tobin James, Layer Cake, Opolo Vineyards, Far Niente and Dr. Loosen Wines.

As a complement to the wines, local restaurants and caterers will pair regional foods with the vintages.

Tasting tickets will be available for sale and can be exchanged for food, wine or in the beer garden. Throughout the evening, the event will feature music from world-famous musicians, art exhibits and products from several high-end retail stores.

Guests will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets during the event and will be given the chance to win high-end prizes such as magnums of wine.

Whether a novice or a connoisseur, all wine lovers attending the International Wine Festival, which will be located in parking lot #7 on the corner of Rockwell Canyon Road and Valencia Boulevard, will have the opportunity to learn about wines in an informative and supportive environment while helping a much-needed arts and education outreach program for local schools.

"The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center's new K-12 Arts Education Outreach program is pleased to be the beneficiary of this year's International Festival," said PAC Managing Director Adam Philipson. "The outreach program will serve the growing needs for arts education in our valley and will impact the lives of nearly 10,000 children this year."

All Corked Up members will receive a $10 discount off the regular admission price of $50, which includes 10 food and beverage tickets.
