Suspect found with items belonging to deliveryman

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Thursday morning they said may have been involved with the theft of a pizza guy’s car.

Jesse Tucker, 24, of Newhall, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen property, according to a statement released by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

About 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the deliveryman left his white Toyota Yaris unlocked and running in front of one of his stops in the 24700 block of Town Center Drive. Someone drove off with it before he could get back.

On Thursday morning, deputies saw a man, whom they believe was Tucker, trying to get into cars parked by the Facey Medical Group at the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway, the statement said. The suspect ran off.

Deputies later arrested Tucker after he allegedly fled during a later traffic stop and found he had a passport, a credit card and other identification belonging to the pizza deliveryman, the statement said.

He has not been charged for theft of the deliveryman’s car.

The Yaris, however, was still missing Thursday night.
