A driver escaped injury late Saturday afternoon when her late-model Honda Accord sedan jumped a curb in a Canyon Country parking lot and landed on a retaining wall with one wheel hanging in mid-air.

The mishap took place in the Rainbow Market lot at the corner of Rainbow Glen and Golden Triangle Road in Canyon Country.

"She was turning right from Rainbow Glen into the parking lot, and when she pulled into the (parking) space, she hit the gas instead of the brake," said Dep. Armstrong of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

"She's a little shaken up, but OK," he said.

The unidentified driver, seated in the front seat of a sheriff's car waiting for tow truck drivers to move her car off the wall, declined to speak with a reporter.

Within an hour, the car had been safely removed without damage to its undercarriage or the retaining wall.
