Dr. Amy Wagner and her husband Paola Hernandez celebrate Wagner's win at the Soroptomist International of Santa Clarita Valley's first annual Fiesta Poker Texas Hold 'em Tournament on June 6 at the Westridge Horizon Clubhouse. Wagner's prize was a $1,500 seat at the June 25 and 26 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, including hotel room.

Dr. Amy Wagner, Canyon Country pediatrician, won it all at the Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley’s first annual Fiesta Poker Texas Hold’em tournament Saturday night, June 6 at the Westridge Horizon Clubhouse.

Dr. Wagner’s husband, Paolo Hernandez, also landed a seat at the final table.

Wagner walked away with first prize — a $1,500 seat at a June 25 and 26 World Series of Poker tournament plus a two-night stay in Las Vegas.

(Wagner didn’t place at WSOP, but “had a great time.”)

The Soroptimist event drew more than 100 players and spectators from as far away as San Diego.

Tacos, coronas and margaritas added to the south of the border theme and guests were overheard saying, “these are the best tacos I’ve ever tasted”.

Before the night was over, guests were already asking, “when’s the next tournament?”

SISCV would like to thank all of their sponsors and donors for making this event so successful and so much fun.

The high-energy fundraiser brought in more than $16,000 which the club will use to deliver on its mission of helping to improve the lives of women and girls locally and around the world.

Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley is just one of 125 clubs worldwide that make up Soroptimist International.
