The Measure V Citizens’ Oversight Committee issued a clean report Wednesday to the Hart district regarding Measure V spending for the 2007-08 fiscal year.

Addressing board members, committee chair Phil Ellis called the audit “exceptional,” noting that funding has been spent properly.

“It was a very good report,” he said.

The audit did not include any findings or recommendations for the 2008-09 fiscal year.

According to the audit report, the William S. Hart Union High School District “has properly accounted for the expenditures made with Measure V funds and that such expenditures were made on authorized bond projects.”

Local voters approved $158 million Measure V bond in 2001.

Measure V funding has contributed to modernization projects at schools including Saugus High School and Arroyo Seco Junior High School. The bond also helped fund the construction of Golden Valley and West Ranch high schools and Rancho Pico Junior High School.

Board members commended the findings.

“I think it’s getting better because we’re learning,” board member Patricia Hanrion said.
