The Santa Clarita Valley International Program (SCVIP) is pleased to launch the Santa Clarita Valley International Pageant.

SCVIP is the local nonprofit sister city organization of Santa Clarita, whose mission is to promote and expand the effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the people of Santa Clarita and the people of international cities (countries); and to shepherd the creation and development of sister city relationships were education, economic development and cultural awareness may be exchanged, implemented and strengthened.

The focus behind Miss and Miss Teen Santa Clarita Valley International is to recognize and assist in the development of young women, showcase them as positive role models, and give them the extraordinary opportunity to help strengthen and foster SCVIP's goals in the global community.

Pageant winners will serve as ambassadors to Santa Clarita's two Sister Cities - Sariaya, Philippines and Tena, Ecuador. "As delegates to our international partners, these young women will gain a perspective on the importance of international affairs and diplomacy, and foster global awareness and responsibility," said Carl Boyer, former city of Santa Clarita Mayor and founder of SCVIP. "We are looking for bright young women to vie for the Miss Santa Clarita Valley International and Miss Teen Santa Clarita Valley International titles."

The Miss and Miss Teen Santa Clarita Valley International Pageant will be held on Sunday, September 13, at the Anoush Banquet Hall in North Hollywood, California. Contestants will participate in interviews, and compete in the following categories: evening gown, lifestyle and fitness wear, talent, and on-stage question.

All proceeds from this event will go towards the Sister Cities program for the construction of a medical clinic in Sariaya, Philippines and for medical missions in Tena, Ecuador.
