The long-waited options report, which will detail the governing options for the westside unincorporated communities was delivered to Santa Clarita City Hall Friday, but it will be weeks before the public can view the document.

“We’ve received a first draft and will be ready to release the draft in two to three weeks,” said Gail Ortiz, Santa Clarita spokeswoman.

The initial rough draft will be reviewed by city officials prior to its release, she added.

The options report details the three government options for the westside unincorporated communities. In November, residents can voice their preference for either incorporation, annexation by the city of Santa Clarita or remaining unincorporated.

Delays have marred the delivery of the options report, which ruffled many westside residents during two public information meeting on governance. Residents to The Signal it would be impossible to make a decision on the form of government without seeing the options report.
