Barr too far gone

This letter is not written to Howard Barr ("Health care not funny," The Signal, June 26).

It's written to everyone else, because Howard is clearly too far gone into the "universal single-payer health care" utopia to be saved (even by extreme measures).

Howard thinks that increasing bureaucracy via the government is the answer to high expenses and limitations on treatment.

No, really, I'm serious, and that's before he's been administered the socialized anesthesia of a bureaucrat dictating his treatment.

Howard is forgetting - intentionally or perhaps through hypnosis - that government has a zero track record of successfully running anything well, except perhaps the military.

So if you hate your HMO now, just wait until Howard gets his way in creating the biggest HMO on the planet with skyrocketing costs, rationed service, zero competition and no chance to go anywhere else.
