Engagement: Shelton - Paul

Leah Rose Shelton and Matthew David Paul will be wed Aug. 1 at the Seascape Golf Resort in Apros, Calif. with honeymoon to follow in Spain.

 
Jennifer Shelton of Santa Clarita and Jim Shelton of Glendale are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Rose Shelton, to Matthew David Paul of Santa Cruz.

The bride-elect is the sister of Lyndsey Rickabaugh and Shelton Rickabaugh of Bremerton, Wash. and Lanette Shelton of Santa Clarita.

She is the granddaughter of Richard and RoseMarie Wineland of Burbank and Richard and Rosemary Frankian of Burbank.

She was born in Burbank and is a 2003 graduate of Valencia High School where she lettered in soccer, softball and football.

She is a 2007 graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton with a degree in Business Marketing Communications.

At the University of the Pacific she played soccer and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

She is presently employed by Ferguson Enterprises of Monterey.

The groom-elect is the son of Dave and Shelleen Paul of Santa Cruz.

He is the brother of Cole Paul and the grandson of Victor and Peggy Bogard of Santa Cruz, Ina Velasco of Lodi and Helen and Gilbert Paul of Santa Cruz.

He is a 2002 graduate of Soquel High School where he lettered in basketball and volleyball.

He is a 2006 graduate of the University of the Pacific with a degree in Business Finance and where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

He is employed by Wells Fargo Bank.

The couple's engagement was announced while visiting Santa Clarita and visiting family during the Christmas holidays.

They plan an Aug. 1 wedding at Seascape Golf Resort in Apros, Calif. with a honeymoon to Spain and a Mediterranean cruise.

An Aug. 22 reception for the couple will be held in Santa Clarita at the home of the mother of the bride.

The couple plan to make their home in the Bay area.
