You can't go wrong with the Fourth of July festivities available locally. We've got a pancake breakfast, a 5K run, a parade, barbecues, picnics and a couple great fireworks shows. But if you want to branch out a bit, there are many other slants on the holiday celebration. Some offer cool activities and entertainment and some offer that plus cooler temperatures. You've got fireworks extravaganzas in the San Fernando Valley, concerts at the Starlight Bowl and Hollywood Bowl, celebrations near the ocean (including at the Aquarium of the Pacific) and theme parks. If you've never done a Fourth at Disneyland, maybe now is the time. And, if you just want to get away from it all, why not try some outdoor fun in Big Bear?

So, from the mountains to the sea, and all the red, white and blue in between - celebrate!
