State priorities off

I am concerned that our state's priorities are messed up. I see and read all the things that have been cut because our state is in crisis.

We are still spending thousands of dollars to support petty criminals and drug addicts by sending them to jail, feeding them and transporting them to court cases that continually get postponed.

Our children are being let down by our system. We take money from education and supporting and helping the poor to send people to prison for long periods of time for petty crimes.

Don't the people in power realize that cutting education and help for the poor they are creating more petty crimes?

We all know that prison is not a place for the rehabilitation of drug addicts or petty criminals. It's a learning institution to teach better crimes, bigger crimes and how to bully the populace.

Why are we not taking money from prisons and finding alternative measures for petty crimes instead of spending thousands and thousands of dollars locking people up?

Things are tough right now. We need to act on how our money is being spent.

It's unwise to cut education. What are kids going to do with no education? They will become criminals.

Get it?
