The West Ranch varsity baseball team shut out Golden Valley on Friday 9-0 at West Ranch High.

Wildcat Charlie Gillies pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 12 Grizzlies, and allowing only three hits. The win is the fourth for Gillies on the season.

West Ranch scored a run in the second inning off a Cal Vogelsang single.

It was all West Ranch would need in the game.

But the Wildcats kept the scoring going adding two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and two in the sixth.

In the bottom of the fifth, C.J. Woldanski led off with a double for the Wildcats.

He and Paul Hammons would score on an error.

Casey Watkins later singled, bringing in Volgelsang. Brett Bradbury followed with an RBI single.

Bradbury had two hits and two RBIs in the game, while Volgelsang had two RBIs.

West Ranch is 9-9 overall and 4-5 in the Foothill League.

The Wildcats will face Canyon next at Canyon.

Golden Valley is 3-14 and 0-9 in league. The Grizzlies have a pair of games with Valencia next week.
