Health care not funny

The Republican health care proposal is a bad joke with no punch line. The health care insurance companies are leeching away at people’s life savings all to increase their CEO’s profit margins.

More than 60 percent of all personal bankruptcies in this country are due to health care bills.

American industry is burdened by overly expensive health insurance and because of that is letting go of older, more experienced workers because of the increased costs.

Children are dying in the hospitals because some “private industry bureaucrat” is getting between the patient and the doctors.

This is what happened to the 17-year-old girl in Glendale a year and half ago as Cigna Insurance ($17.6 billion in revenue for 2007) listed her doctor-requested procedure as “experimental” and refused to pay for months, only agreeing to pay once the girl was on her death bed and the media coverage that ensued.

Enough is enough.

The American health insurance industry has become cancer upon our nation and there is a cure.

Please support universal single-payer health care coverage.
