Jazz & Blues Concert Series

Summer camp at Castaic complex

Registration times for summer camp held in Castaic Regional Sports complex are 3-6 p.m. Monday - Friday and 1-2 p.m. Saturday. Rancho Camulos offers tours
Docent led public tours are available without appointment February through November, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 p.m. and year round by appointment.  Rancho Camulos is a National Historic Landmark where the early Californio lifestyle is preserved in its original rural environment and was the setting for “Ramona,” the 1884 novel by Helen Hunt Jackson that generated national interest in the history of Hispanic settlement in California and the impact on Native Americans. Suggested donation for the one hour tour is $5 for adults and $3 for children and students. The Museum is located on Highway 126, 10 miles west of the I-5 freeway in Piru. Start Smart class for teens at CHP
The Start Smart class is aimed at helping newly licensed drivers and future licensed teenage drivers become aware of the responsibilities that accompany the privilege of being a licensed California driver. School boundary adjust meeting
Families in the Mint Canyon School attendance area and incoming seventh and eighth graders at La Mesa Junior High School are invited to attend an informational meeting on proposed attendance boundary adjustments proposed by the Hart School District. The proposed adjustments would affect students from the Sierra Highway corridor north of Soledad Canyon Road and would take effect in August 2010. Authors discuss San Fernando Mission
Authors Ken and Carol Pauley have extensively studied the San Fernando Mission culminating in their book “San Fernando, Rey de España: An Illustrated History.”. Community Hiking Club June schedule
June 27 - Mt Pacifico is a 12 mile RT, 2200’ gain hike filled with pine trees and wildflowers. Bring your camera. Meet at Towsley Canyon outside the gate before 8 a.m. for departure to the trail head. Bring lots of water, lunch, and comfortable boots. Adventure Pass Required.
June 28- With Friends of the River, Cal Trout, and the Santa Clarita Casting Club to help clean up Piru Creek. Picnic and BBQ. Meet at Towsley at 7:30 a.m. to carpool. Or meet at Frenchman’s Flats at 8 a.m. Event will be from 8 a.m.-noon.

Fourth of July at Castaic Lake
The 16th annual all day Fourth of July Celebration Fireworks Show will be held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Castaic Lake.
