Participants in the Circle of Hope 5K walk begin their hike during last year's event. This spring's walk is scheduled for Saturday.

Local cancer support group Circle of Hope is hosting its fourth annual Walk for Hope 5K walk this Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Castaic Lake.

Check in and walk-in registration is from 8 to 9:15 a.m. At 9:15 a.m., the Warrior Princess Court will feature testimonies from cancer survivors and those fighting the disease.

Circle of Hope, Inc. - a 501(c)3 nonprofit group - helps to pay for treatments for breast cancer patients living, working, or receiving treatment in the Santa Clarita Valley who are uninsured or underinsured.

Saturday's events will also include a barbecue by Friends of Castaic Lake from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., live music by The Company Band from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a people's choice car show until 1 p.m.

Circle of Hope is also partnering with Gentle Barn to encourage pet adoption. Gentle Barn will be bringing out dogs and puppies, and photos of cats, available for adoption.

Walkers are also encouraged to bring their dogs.

Registration fees range from $20 to $35, for individuals or teams.
