Five SCV residents appear in "Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead," which opens at the Tre Stage Theatre in Hollywood on June 27, and continues on July 4, 11, 18 and 25. Written by Bert V. Royal, the "unauthorized parody" of the famous "Peanuts" comic strip takes a look at the gang in their high school years.

In an interview with the writer, Glenn Meads described a previous presentation of Royal's play in this way: "This time round, things are slightly more darker than you remember. Royal's version features drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity, which collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful."

Royal, himself, said, "Peanuts was the ultimate in angst. But, of course, teenagers are far more angst ridden than grade school children and the idea of having these kids dealing with things far greater than kites getting stuck in trees was very funny to me."
The play is directed by Vanessa Bronson, who also plays the character of Van's Sister (aka Lucy).

Dash Shenberger plays CB (aka Charlie Brown). Jesse Johnson plays Beethoven (aka Shroeder). Lisa Kay Jennings plays CB's Sister (aka Sally). Dominick Aznavour plays Matt (aka Pigpen). Randy Reynolds plays Van (aka Linus). Ashley Elizabeth plays Marcy and Jessica Kaplan plays Tricia (aka Peppermint Patty).
