On Wednesday, July 8, Dr. Sabita Malla, Internist/Geriatrician from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital presents "Medication: Promoting Safe Administration & Optimal Efficacy" from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Activity Rooms 1 & 2 of the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall 91321. 

Other Consumer Lectures for July at the SCV Senior Center will be:
* Wednesday, July 15: Psychotherapist Judith Harris discusses "Creative Worrying: Finding Happiness in a Broken World."
* Wednesday, July 22: Health educator Ginger Jacobs from Facey Medical Group will give the latest, best advice on "How to Keep Your Memory!"
* Wednesday, July 29: Learn "Everything You Need to Know about Funerals & Planning Final Expenses," from Robert Wilhelm from the Guardian of Funds Foundation.

All lectures are from 1-2 p.m. in Activity Rooms 1 & 2 of the SCV Senior Center.

On Thursday, July 30, Jeannette Oganova, territory manager from Health Net Senior Products Division will offer a free birthday celebration served with information on the July 1 Medi-Cal changes and how they will affect area seniors. She will be giving away pill boxes, lip balm, notepads and more -- along with the cake!

In addition, the following free health clinic will be offered at the SCV Senior Center: Wednesday, July 15: Hearing Clinic by Audiologist Randall Bartlett of Audiology Services of Newhall, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Respite Office.

Every Wednesday: Free blood pressure checks performed by nurses, noon to 1 p.m. in Activity Room 3.

Note: There will be no Glucose Screening in July.
