"Santa Clarita is no stranger to crises," city spokeswoman Gail Ortiz said. "But the hallmark of Santa Clarita is its preparedness, and the expo helps the city and its residents to be better prepared."
Thousands attend the yearly event, and this year, 76 exhibitor booths will be present, where the visitor can learn how to operate a fire extinguisher, sit on a Caltrans plow truck, watch a first aid demonstration or experience an earthquake simulator.
There will also be food, entertainment and giveaways and prizes.
Admission is free, and emergency supplies are sold at the event. The expo will take place at COC's Valencia campus in Lot 8.
An early access hour starts at 9 a.m. for special needs families. For more information, call (661) 255-4965.
