Two community meetings have been organized for neighborhoods affected by the William S. Hart Union High School District's proposed school boundary changes.

n Families in the Mint Canyon School attendance area and incoming seventh- and eighth-graders at La Mesa Junior High School are invited to a meeting from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 23 at the Mint Canyon School multipurpose room. The proposed adjustments would affect students from the Sierra Highway corridor north of Soledad Canyon Road.

n Families in the Wiley Canyon School attendance area and incoming seventh- and eighth-graders at Rancho Pico Junior High School are invited to a meeting from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the multipurpose room at Wiley Canyon School. The proposed adjustments would affect students from the Calgrove/Hidden Valley areas of Newhall.

The Hart district hopes to adjust the boundaries to relieve overcrowding in some schools, and to make better use of underused sites. The changes would be effective in August 2010.
