Stop gangs in SCV

In the last three or four years, gang activity has been more frequent in the Santa Clarita Valley.

As a mother of two kids, one in her teen years, I am really concerned about it.

A lot of young kids walk through Canyon Country streets wearing baggy clothing, shaved heads, hanging around with older guys with shaved heads, their bodies covered with tattoos and their typical intimidating attitude.

There has been an increase of graffiti on schools, parks, commercial walls and so on, and gang initiations.

This makes me feel very sad, definitely worried and insecure.

I know Santa Clarita Valley authorities are already trying to take care of this situation, but I think they should be more drastic in their actions about it. This problem has to be handled as an emergency with determination and efficiency. Otherwise, the situation will be out of control, as we can see in East L.A., Palmdale, Lancaster and other cities.

I love Santa Clarita Valley and still believe it's a great place to live, but we need to be cautious and work together to keep the community as safe and wonderful as always.
