The city of Santa Clarita's Newhall Pool will officially open to the public Friday, June 12 at 1 p.m. with a brand new 11 foot long, 9 foot tall yellow slide.

All residents are invited to attend and enjoy Recreational Swim at no cost on that day.

Beginning Saturday, June 13, recreation swim will be offered daily at a minimal cost of $2 for community members 18 years old and up, $1 for those 17 years of age and under, and kids 2 and under are free.

The Newhall Pool has been closed since last October for the winter season. The city took advantage of the off-season period to install the brand new slide.

"The Newhall Pool slide is another example of how the city of Santa Clarita and the City Council continue to provide community members with quality recreational equipment," said Mayor Frank Ferry, Mayor for the city of Santa Clarita.

The Newhall Pool underwent renovations in 2006 to bring it up-to-date. The new water slide at the pool is sure to make a huge splash during the upcoming months, making this Santa Clarita pool one of the coolest places to be this summer for local residents.
