Ethan Frank, a student from Santa Clarita Christian in Santa Clarita, will participate in the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar Program.

He is among an elite group of nearly 2,250 young men and women from around the nation and world to attend the seminar this summer.

The seminar will teach prospective applicants about life at the Naval Academy where academics, athletics and professional training play equally important roles in developing leaders.

Each student will attend a six-day session and experience a part of the Academy life.

The Naval Academy was founded in 1845 and awards four-year undergraduate B.S. degrees in one of 22 majors.

Students earn a commission as ensigns in the U.S. Navy or second lieutenants in the U.S. Marine Corps.
