Girl Scout Troop 8252 includes Mackenna Teeman, Brooke Rapko, Jada Williams and Laura Hernandez.

The troop may be small in numbers, but it is big in heart.

The girls in the troop recently spent a day beautifying the Castaic Lake main launch ramp by planting three different types of plants including, African daisies, rosemary and lavender.

Their efforts earned the girls in the troop a bronze star.

Members of the Friends of the Lake assisted the troop by donating the plants, their time and effort towards the cause.

Friends that helped with the planting were Howard Gross, Ron Gross, Ray Graeber, Joe Lampert, James Perry, Chrissy Perry, Deanna Cattermole, Vickie Sinclair and Mark Oborsky.

The girls in the troop said they wanted to thank Marcellino Padilla and Lori Bennett.
