Not enough water

I am writing in response to the letter by A. Jones in the May 23 edition of The Signal (“Tax outrage”) regarding the proposed taxes and the water problems in Santa Clarita.

I recently read an article in The Signal that 21,000 more homes are to be constructed in our valley.

If the Sanitation District of L.A. County is so concerned about water problems, who is responsible for allowing this proposal?

It is time the people of Santa Clarita stood up and protest at the hearing; also Frank Ferry and Laurene Weste, stand up with the people.

Also in the May 23 edition of the paper, there is a big article in the Home section on conserving water from now on (“Are you ready for the drought?”).

Where is the logic if 21,000 more homes to be constructed in our valley? If we cannot supply water for those of us who are already here, why are so many more homes proposed to be constructed?

And in response to exorbitant taxes to be imposed on the people, what is going on?

As for the taxes proposed to be increased, my children and grandchildren will be the ones to be the recipients of this outrage.
