Carrie Rogers, vice president of business assistance and development with the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, will be the speaker at the Valley Industrial Association monthly luncheon at 11:45 a.m. at the VIA Business-to-Business trade show.

Business, government, education and other organizations are expected to participate in this year’s industry show June 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 26081 Avenue Hall in the Valencia Industrial Center, Valencia.

VIA’s trade show is Santa Clarita’s largest business-to-business show. It is expected to provide a variety of opportunities for companies to connect in a professional environment. Rodgers will discuss the first-ever country-wide economic development plan for Los Angeles, the stimulus package, and how each will affect and advance business in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“VIA is the one-stop shop for relevant business information, supports local educational initiatives, and provides superior networking opportunities,” said Kathy Norris, VIA’s executive director.

For businesses interested in identifying suppliers and providers, the show features a number of VIA members showcasing products and services available locally. The use of local suppliers can deliver important information on competitive pricing, lower shipping costs, superior face-to-face customer service, reduced inventory costs and reduced pollution with less shipping and packaging required, according to VIA.

The Valley Industrial Association of Santa Clarita represents businesses within the Santa Clarita Valley. VIA provides its industrial, commercial and service company members the opportunity to collaborate on a broad range of business issues.

The business luncheon and trade show are open to the public. Cost for the luncheon is $40 for VIA and $50 for visitors, and includes admission to exhibit area. Admission to the trade show only is available at the door for $5. Reservations for the luncheon is available by calling VIA at (661) 294-8088 or visiting www.via.org.
