Stop watering your cement

No matter how much water your spray on cement, it is not going to grow anymore. FYI to the folks around town who continue to wash down their drive and walkways with water: We’re in a drought.

This part of California is experiencing a severe water drought which is being exasperated by political issues in Northern California, traditional source of about 70 percent of Southern California’s water supply.

Because of a small freshwater fish that inhabits current deposits of water up north, the south is seeing less and less of that water.

Furthermore, much needed water conveyance upgrades are completely on hold, which totally kills any the possibility of increasing the amount of water the North ships south.

Instead of hosing down your cement, consider one of those gas or electric leaf blowers. Though noisy, they are much more efficient at moving debris from one place to another.

On the other hand, perhaps moving dirt and grass clippings from your driveway into our already overtaxed sewer system is not for you?

In that case, about $20 will get you a really sturdy push broom and dust pan.
