Ambulances transported a 54-year-old Northridge man to the hospital Tuesday after he rolled his car off southbound Interstate 5 just north of the McBean Parkway.

The man, driving a Chevy Malibu, had a medical issue which caused him to swerve to the right shoulder from the fast lane, said California Highway Patrol Officer Michelle Esposito. The man rolled his vehicle and it came to rest overturned on the freeways shoulder, Esposito said.

The man suffered minor injuries, including scratches and a bump on his head, Esposito said. She could not say what the man’s medical issue was due to privacy reasons.
