Businesses lay golden eggs

It seems lately that our state and national courses are terribly out of whack.

We had the tax-and-spend corrupt politicos in Sacramento try to slip Propositions 1A etc. by us for the biggest tax increase in the history of the United States and a so-called Republican governor who has squandered his reputation in collusion with these same scoundrels.

California should lead the nation in all aspects of business, trade and education.

Instead, we have the highest teacher salaries and benefits in the nation and unions that will absorb every red cent they can get their hands on.

Sacramento has managed to create the most unfriendly business climate in the nation. We tax and regulate to a point that drives out a good percentage of these businesses. Our entrepreneurs will not begin a business here because of the hurdles the state of California puts in their paths.

One would think common sense would always be the guide, but this is not the case. The politicians have, over the years, sought to insulate their position by buying union support with our money. And it has worked, mostly.

There is so much that needs to be done here.

We know that if politicians have the money, they will spend it. The common sense trick then becomes seeing that they don't get their grubby hands on it in the first place. California should be a paradise for all of us, not just politicians and union members.

Lower taxes, entice business back.

After all, business is the goose that lays the golden eggs.
