'Summer Showdown' golf tournament set for July 13

The SCV Senior Center hosts their inaugural "Summer Showdown" golf tournament fundraiser July 13 at the Tournament Players Club of Valencia, 26550 Heritage View Ln., Valencia 91381.

The event includes the chance to win a new car from Valencia Acura and a $10,000 putt from Comfort Keepers In Home Care, along with prizes offered at each hole.

There are also prizes available at each hole and tasty treats provided by Salt Creek Catering, Sweetwater Cafe, The Social and Anheuser-Busch.

The day costs $150 for individuals and $500 for foursomes. This includes green fees, golf carts, continental breakfast, banquet appetizers and beverages.

The following sponsorship opportunities are also available:

* The "Tiger Woods" Sponsorship $5,000
Foursome for golf, Company Sign at banquet, Mulligan package, Tee box sign at 2 holes of your choice, Company logo in all media advertising, Full page ad in program, Logo and website link on SCV Foundation Website.

* The "Jack Nicklaus" Sponsorship $2,500
Foursome for golf, Mulligan package, Tee box sign at at hole of your choice, Company Sign at banquet, Company logo in all media advertising, Half page ad in program, Logo and website link on SCV Foundation Website.

* The "Arnold Palmer" Sponsorship $1,000
Twosome for golf, Tee box sign at 1 hole of your choice, Company Sign at banquet, Company logo in all media advertising, Quarter page ad in program, Logo and website link on SCV Foundation Website.

All proceeds will benefit the Adult Daycare Respite and Supportive Services for seniors suffering from memory loss illnesses like Alzheimer's and dementia.

The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging/Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center in its mission of enhancing independence, dignity, and quality of life for senior citizens in our community through community outreach and inclusion, fund development, and creation and support of signature fundraisers that benefit the parent organization.
