Santa Clarita Valley residents have a chance to peek inside the creative mind this weekend.

Those interested in taking a look at what the artists studying at CalArts are working on will have the chance to visit the artists' studios on Sunday.

Current master's of fine arts students in the Art, Photography and Integrated Media programs at California Institute of the Arts have invited the public to the annual Graduate Open Studios Day, taking place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Approximately 60 graduate students will open their workspace to the public, and visitors are invited to take an inside look at the diverse projects being undertaken at CalArts - where students test the limits of their mediums and explore definitions of contemporary art making.

The open studios event provides a rare opportunity for visitors to CalArts to preview works in progress and converse with artists in a comfortable and informal setting. Each artist will be present in his or her studio and available to answer questions and discuss their work.

For information about the Open Studies event, call CalArts at (661) 255-1050.
