Sheriff's deputies arrested two Tujunga men who were in the midst of stealing items from a Valencia home about 8 a.m. Saturday morning, said Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's Lt. Mark Hershey.

Neighbors called the Sheriff's Station from the 25000 block of Via Heraldo, Valencia, reporting "some suspicious guys near one of the houses," Hershey said.

When deputies arrived, suspects Mario Rueda, 28, and Glenn Wright, 36, were coming out of the house, he said.

"One had a checkbook from the victim that lived there," Hershey said. "(The house) was ransacked. The back door was open. The (television) was unhooked. There was some property in the truck but it was hard to determine what was already there."

The two men were arrested for burglary, Hershey said.

"One said he lives in Tujunga and drove to Valencia because it's a richer neighborhood and (there's) better property there," he said.
