About 1,000 ballots still need to be verified and each ballot contains up to two votes.
This week's unofficial results showed Laurie Ender and Bob Kellar with a 1,000-vote lead over the three other candidates, and the final vote tabulation is not likely to change the winners.
The outstanding ballots include about 600 absentee ballots turned in at City Hall on election day, 250 absentee ballots cast at the polls and 150 provisional ballots.
The signatures on those ballots must be verified with the county's voter registration list in order to count.
"We have sent copies of the signatures to the county for them to compare with the voter registration file and we did not get anything back from them this morning and we did not get anything back from them yesterday," Dawson said Friday.
Dawson had originally hoped to have the final tally on Monday, but now expects to announce the final results on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
