To The Editor: I use vote-by-mail. I got the information from my mailbox, read it all carefully and mailed the ballot back within a few days.
So what is the problem? I missed the campaign by mailing it in so soon!
For voters like me, the ballots are sent out way too early. I know that there might be a few of us who need that time because of extraordinary circumstances, but I, like many, find it a hassle to go to the polls.
One time I went to the address on the sample ballot and the polling place wasn't there. Maybe that experience soured me just a little.
Of course I could have tucked away my ballot paperwork and waited for the campaign. Not me. I need a little help from the county on this.
Can't we have a little box to check somewhere so that our sample ballot arrives just a week or so before the election?
