LOS ANGELES COUNTY - The Board of Supervisors approved a motion by Supervisors Michael Antonovich and Mark Ridley-Thomas to provide county residents, businesses and contractors one-stop "Environmental Service Centers" to access technical resources and financial incentives related to the county's 'green' initiatives.

The centers would be funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conversation Block Grant Program, which provides funds to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy use and spur economic growth and job creation.

The proposal also provides funding for a Web site linking all related county resources and services at green.lacounty.gov.

The county's chief executive officer will report back to the Board with an update on the plan on June 23.
