Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) will host a dance party and special viewing of Sabrina Bryan's "BYOU2" fitness DVD on Thursday, May 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. for girls ages 9-14.

Dancer, singer and actress Sabrina Bryan, perhaps best-known as a member of Disney girl group the Cheetah Girls, has enlisted the help of Girl Scouts in her video to spread a very important message of empowerment for girls - be happy, be healthy, be fit, BYOU!

In conjunction with "uniquely ME!," the Girl Scout/Dove self-esteem program, GSGLA will host an official "BYOU2 Dance Party" where girls will participate in a heart-pumping, fun, dance experience with the BYOU2 fitness DVD.

They will also be introduced to uniquely ME! self-esteem activities focused on recognizing their strengths and talents, developing a positive body image and taking care of their bodies and minds.

"BYOU2" contains 70 minutes of cardio moves using hip-hop and Bollywood-inspired dance combinations. Bryan and her friends take the viewer through each move slowly, gradually speeding them up to a full-blast workout.

The DVD, out now, also includes special behind-the-scenes footage of the making of BYOU2 as well as a section called "BREAL & BYOU" where Nancy Redd, best-selling author of Body Drama, gives girls a look at the tricks behind celebrity photos.

The event will be held at La Mesa Junior High School, 26623 May Way, Santa Clarita 91351. Bring a friend! Non-Girl Scouts welcome!

Girls are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.
