The city of Santa Clarita and the College of the Canyons will host a "Jump Start Your Job Search" workshop on Thursday, May 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Activities Center.

The workshop is free to attend, open to the public and focuses on teaching attendees the tools needed to compete in a tight job market.

Community members who are currently seeking employment or simply want to be prepared for an uncertain future can get an edge on the competition at the "Jump Start Your Job Search" workshop.

"Competition is fierce in today's job market and the Jump Start Your Job Search workshop will help community members to be better prepared in these tumultuous times," Councilman Bob Kellars said. "The workshop is a great way to learn how to market yourself and stand out to employers who have a host of applicants to choose from."

Workshop attendees will learn how to maximize their job search potential by learning important job market resources like resume and interview strategies, transferable job skills, marketing and branding techniques and more.

The Santa Clarita Activities Center is located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91350.
