"Hollywood Hit Ladies" is the theme of the Saugus High School Dance Team's performance tonight and Saturday night starting at 7:30 in the school gym.

The exceptionally talented and award winning Saugus High Dance Team invites the Santa Clarita Valley community to the final performance of their annual dance show tonight.

Since most of the team's competitions are held in outlying cities, this show presents an opportunity for residents to be entertained and engaged by the high caliber of dance that this team brings to the arena year after year.

This year's theme is "Hollywood Hit Ladies" based on the opening number set to a medley of songs by popular female recording artists such as Beyonce', Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson.

"There is never a dull moment in this high-energy, stylized and technically challenging routine choreographed by Rob Schultz, which showcases the versatility of our team," said Sarah Yuwiler, a team captain. "The audience will be kept at the edge of their seats."

Along with the opening number the team will be performing several of the competition routines including the Intermediate Dance "I Want Candy" which received a third-place award in the Championship category at USA Nationals in March.

"This number is a crowd pleaser full of high energy and is personally one of my favorites because it includes every member of the team," said Samantha Bosarge, also a team captain.

In celebration and acknowledgement of the depth of talent that exists in the Santa Clarita Valley along with the shared passion for dance, many local studios and high school teams will be performing.

"The high school teams from Santa Clarita are truly among the best in Southern California taking home numerous National awards and the team members have trained extensively at the local studios," said Alexcis Grcevic, A team captain. "This performance gives the community an opportunity to see an amazing program showcasing the best talent."

Local styudios participating include the Dance Experience, Studio One, Studio 84, New World, Star Dance, Elite, and Vibe Performing Arts.

High School teams include Hart, Valencia, West Ranch, Glendale, Thousand Oaks and Saugus Stomp.

"Another main attraction of the show each year is the co-ed dance, where each dance team member selected a male partner from high school," said Megan Bowcott, a senior dance team member. "As these young men show off their killer dance moves, the crowd is always rewarded with a few laughs."

Not to be outdone by the young men, the Saugus Dance Dads will take the floor to show they haven't lost their rhythm or style on the dance floor.

With a wide variety of styles of dance including Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and captivating choreography set to songs both fast and slow in tempo, the audience will be mesmerized and thrilled by the performances. This is genuine family friendly entertainment and a great value.

So please join us tonight at 7:30 in the Saugus High School gymnasium. Tickets at the door are $10 for students with an I.D. and $12 for adults, respectively.
