Fillmore May Festival is May 14 to 17, 2009

A carnival, music, food and fun celebrate the mild month of May in a very small town way

Downtown Fillmore bustles with action next weekend during the Fillmore May Festival (May 14 to 17). On Thursday, May 14, the action begins at 3:30 p.m. and continues until 10 p.m. The festival continues on Friday, from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday form 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Friday entertainment includes RJ the DJ from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the House Arrest Band from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

On Saturday there will be a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 461 Central Ave., and a parade through the downtown area starts at 10 a.m. The day's entertainment continues at noon with the parade awards, followed by a children's theater group and Pierce's Kenpo Karate. The Company Band plays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Hindsight from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

On Sunday RJ the DJ is back from noon to 1 p.m. The Skinny Little Twits play from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Danny Torres & the Piru River Band play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, entrance to the carnival will be $3 for adults, $2 for kids age 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under.
