What a tragedy waiting to happen.

Traveling north on the 405 freeway on a recent Friday afternoon in heavy traffic, there must have been two dozen motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic and passing between cars in a very precarious way.

One false move by a motorist or motorcyclist would be a tragic accident in the making. The motorcyclist doesn’t have a fighting chance.

The state of Oregon has a law that motorcyclists have to stay in the same lane as the motorists. Motorcyclists changing lanes in a safe fashion as motorists do is lawful, but passing between cars is not lawful.

To whom it may concern: “Gear-up” and “speed up” to pass a law to prohibit this weaving in and out and passing between cars.

Adopt Oregon’s law to stay in your lane.

To the motorcyclists who are weaving in and out, at least give yourself a fighting chance to survive your trip.
