A Los Angeles-area woman's vehicle was carjacked in North Hollywood and the woman forced at knife-point to drive to Newhall, where her attacker reportedly raped her Sunday night, according to a sheriff's spokesman.

The victim picked up the suspect in North Hollywood late Sunday night. The man, described as a male Hispanic, pulled out a knife and forced the woman to drive her car to a parking lot in Newhall, where he reportedly raped her, said Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

After the reported attack, the suspect forced the victim from her car in the 23700 block of Newhall Avenue at 11:30 p.m., Price said.

The suspect fled with the victim's car, Price said.

The victim was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries, according to Price. Her condition is unknown.

The suspect remains at large. The car in which the suspect fled is described as a silver Honda with the California license plate 6GMT752.

Sheriff's officials ask anyone with information about the suspect, or the incident, to call the SCV Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
