One lucky local music fan chosen at random in the Racer's Edge Indoor Karting-sponsored "Summer Meltdown Ultimate Giveaway" at The Signal.com will win a massive prize package.

The freebies feature tickets and backstage passes to the sixth annual "Summer Meltdown Autism Awareness and Social Inclusion Concert" rock festival Saturday, May 23 at Golden Valley High School's outdoor amphitheater.

The online-only contest went live at noon May 1 at The-Signal.com.

To enter, click on the "CONTESTS" link on the main menu under the banner, and then the "Summer Meltdown Ultimate Giveaway" link.

You can also click here to go directly to the contest page.

The Racer's Edge "Summer Meltdown Ultimate Giveaway" tote bag is stuffed with four concert admission tickets, four backstage passes, four food vouchers, four event T-shirts, the latest CD by each of the dozen acts on the festival bill, Racer's Edge swag and more.

The winner also gets a presentation of the bag of swag onstage during the concert, plus a story with photos published in The Signal and posted on The-Signal.com, and a free one-year subscription to The Signal newspaper.

The Summer Meltdown festival is produced each year by the William S. Hart Union High School District's Yes I Can program by students with and without disabilities.

The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, and the winner will be chosen at random, notified and announced the next day.

Last year's winner, Sara Ridnor, then a sophomore at Saugus High School and enrolled in the Yes I Can program, took her mother, father and sister as her guests to the concert, headlined by central California rockers Trapt.

"I had a great time," Ridnor said afterward. "It was really fun throwing out the T-shirts from the stage and getting Trapt's autographs. Thank you for all the cool T-shirts, CDs and other stuff and making it such a fun day for me and my family. I can't wait until the 2009 Summer Meltdown."

This year's festival headliner is Shwayze, and the lineup includes OPM, The Dirty Heads, Oh No Not Stereo, Renfue, Boomkat, Forrest Day, BlueSkyReality, Kounterfeit Change, Mission:Black, BLT, and Evidence in Here.
