Bruce's vitriol towards the "tea baggers" in this article shows just how out of touch he is. If I did not have a prior commitment, I would have been among the ranks of those protesting.
Those who I know who went do not fit the caricature Bruce has created. We are hard-working people who have indeed acquired a nice lifestyle and are living the American dream.
We are not rich. We go to church, give to charity and believe that everyone can achieve the American dream through hard work and perseverance.
We are not anti-government. What we are interested in is preserving the liberty our founders so correctly put into our Constitution.
The liberty for individuals to pursue and retain wealth is what has made us the greatest nation on this planet. When we see our most radical president ever working to take this liberty away to "spread around the wealth" and initiating the largest spending package in history, you better believe we're going to protest.
The tea-baggers are first-rate patriots.
Bruce appears to have moved so far to the left that when he looks back to center and sees the tea baggers there, they appear right wing to him.
