The Valley Industry Association received $2,500 from U.S. Bank for its Connecting to Success program.

VIA’s Education Foundation accepted the grant for its program designed to help high school students prepare for the workplace.

Connecting to Success holds several sessions for students in the William S. Hart Union School District once a year, helping them to prepare for interviews, dress for success and learn workplace ethics. The sessions are conducted by more than 80 local business leaders.

“Connecting to Success teaches young people how to be the leaders of tomorrow,” said Mark Velador, branch manager for U.S. Bank in Valencia and also a volunteer for the program.

“This relationship is a win-win for both U.S. Bank and VIA,” he said.
