An e-mail being circulated among Santa Clarita Valley Cub Scout mothers containing reports of an unidentified man trying to lure children into local park bathrooms launched a Sheriff's Station investigation, a sheriff's spokesman said.

The e-mail describes a white male, in his 30s, dressed in surfer apparel with a black bag, who tries to lure children into bathrooms at local parks.

The e-mail was forwarded to Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's deputies on Friday. The Sheriff's Station immediately launched an investigation, Sgt. Darren Harris said. There were no leads in the investigation as of Monday, he said.

"The case has been sent to the detective bureau and we're seeking more information," he said.

Sheriff's detectives are looking for anyone who has come in contact with a person matching the suspect's description or any witnesses who have seen suspicious behavior in local park, Harris said.

Anyone with information related to these reports is asked to contact the Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
