The city of Santa Clarita and Los Angeles County will sponsor their annual Pet Vaccination Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at Central Park.

The offered services for dogs and owners attending the Clinic include low-cost vaccinations, license renewal and free micro-chipping for their pet.

The vaccinations offered include Rabies for $6, a six-in-one vaccination including Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenze and Parvovius for $14 and the Bordetella vaccination for $11.

Rabies vaccinations are required by state law for all dogs older than four months old. Pet micro-chipping will also be offered free of charge.

Most dog licenses expire June 30 and owners may incur penalties if licenses are not renewed by then.

Owners must provide proof of spay or neutering to renew or receive a pet license at the clinic and should bring a certificate of sterility. Licensing for spayed or neutered pets is $20 and $60 for unaltered pets.

Owners must fill out or bring an exemption application to qualify for a non-altered license. Seniors will receive a discount and can obtain pet licenses for $7.50.

All dogs must be on appropriate leashes with adequate collars to receive a vaccination or a license. Both cash and check will be accepted at the pet clinic. Owners interested in purchasing multiple services by check must bring a separate check for each service.
