Pieology Pizzeria on Newhall Ranch Road is donating to the SCV Youth Project and giving away free pizzas to the first 50 customers on its grand opening celebration day.

Adding to the growing number of new pizza restaurants opening in Santa Clarita, Pieology on Newhall Ranch Road is introducing itself to the community by donating 25 percent of the day’s sales to a good cause and giving away 50 free pizzas on July 29.

Pieology has chosen to support the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project on its grand opening day by donating 25 percent of its sales to the nonprofit group on that day.

The pizzeria is also giving away 50 free pizzas to the first 50 customers of the day.

After opening his Pieology Pizzeria in Valencia, owner Rogelio Gonzalez said he was motivated to move to the community.

The Orange-County based pizza chain has 26 restaurants in California, Colorado, Texas and Oregon and plans to bring its made-to-order pizza concept to more markets, including Ohio and Minnesota this summer.

Making customized pizzas, Pieology promises to deliver “smoking hot pizzas in under five minutes” to diners who have the option of designing their own pizza and toppings or selecting one of the restaurant’s own concoctions.

Pizzas sized at 11.5 inches can be loaded with unlimited fresh toppings and still sell for $7.95 each, For more discerning eaters, plain cheese pizzas sell for $6.45 or gluten-free crust are available for an extra $2.00.

“Being able to support such a worthwhile organization such as the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project makes our grand opening celebration that much more meaningful,” Gonzalez said. “The Youth Project offers local teens a place to seek free help and guidance and we’re proud to support their efforts.”

The SCV Youth Project is an organization that works with school students aged 12 to 18 as the struggle with issues of depression, suicide, bullying, peer pressure, domestic violence, sexual assault, pregnancies, neglect, divorce and more.
