As a 28-year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, I look at the good fortune of most of my friends and the fact that I have Social Security to save me from living under a bridge.
The sounds of a certain TV network touting its "fair and balanced" reporting sure didn't seem that way to me. While the amount of money and the percentage of income going to the IRS stings us, the ability of many paying to make this wonderful country work takes my breath away.
I think of our soldiers and their families' sacrifices for our country, and it seems paying taxes is small in comparison to the efforts of those brave souls pay for our safety.
Someone once wrote: "Unto whom much is given, much is demanded from," and I think that is something to keep in mind when tax time rolls around again.
