Valencia High School baseball player Devin Davis got to go deep at a Major League Baseball stadium.

The senior-to-be belted five home runs in Sunday's Major League Baseball Junior Select Home Run Derby at Target Field in Mineapolis as a part of MLB All-Star festivities.

His total was good for a third-place tie, which was just short of making the finals.

Only the top two finishers from Sunday's competition will move on to compete in the finals of the Junior derby that will take place on Monday during the commercial breaks of the main MLB Home Run Derby.

"To be on a pro field that all the pro players get to play on, it was really awesome,” Davis said.

Later in the day, he met with a bunch of former Major Leaguers, including Frank Robinson, Bobby Cox and Roger Clemens.

He'll get to meet current MLB players ahead of Tuesday's All-Star Game, which is also being held at Target Field.

Davis was selected last month to take part in the event along with nine other top high school hitting prospects around the country.

As a part of the all-expenses paid trip, Davis will also get to attend the All-Star Game and meet several current and former MLB players along the way.

And this isn't the only national baseball event Davis will participate in this summer.

He's also headed to the Perfect Game All-American Classic in San Diego's Petco Park on Aug. 10 and he'll follow that up by playing in the 2014 Under Armour All-America Game at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Aug. 16.

Both games feature some of the country's best young baseball players. The Perfect Game contest will be televised on MLB Network.

It was really awesome. To be on a pro field that all the pro plyers get to play on, it was really awesome.”
